Everyone should have a seasonal skin care routine for the change of seasons but this is especially important if you are planning a spring break trip. While travel can be an enriching experience, it causes a great deal of stress on your skin that you would not otherwise be exposed to. There are a few seasonal skin care products that you should make sure go into your luggage before you depart on your vacation this spring break.
Seasonal Skin Care Routine for Sun Exposure
For most people, spring break means long days spend out in the sun. If this is your plan, then your seasonal skin care routine needs to include extra precautions against damage from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. You should be using a minimum of SPF 30 daily but, on a beach vacation, you should be wearing no less than SPF 50. Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause a number of skin care issues, both long and short term. Never skip the sunscreen and be sure to reapply every three hours, even if you have not gone into the water.
After Sun Care
If you are going to be spending a great deal of time in the sun, your seasonal skin care routine should include two different moisturizers. Generally, when you are going to be in a warmer climate, you want to use a lightweight moisturizer that will not melt into your pores, causing blemishes. However, after the sun, your skin is going to feel particularly dry. For these times, it is best to have a heavier moisturizer that will help replenish your skin and restore the moisture lost while you were outside.
In Case of Emergency
Hopefully, you will remember to apply your sunscreen correctly and will not have to deal with sunburn. However, everyone forgets their sunscreen from time to time and the consequences can include red, sore skin, peeling, blisters and even scarring. Just in case, make sure that you pack an aloe lotion in your suitcase to soothe and heal your skin. If you apply aloe to a burn quickly, you may be able to avoid peeling and blisters as it heals.
Everyone wants to come home from spring break with a glowing tan, but it is important to protect your skin in the meantime. Make sure that you use a powerful sunscreen along with a replenishing moisturizer from Genoovo Skincare. To learn more about our moisturizing products or to get an order started, click here.
