Skincare for spring differs from your routine throughout the rest of the year because there are so many triggers that are unique to the season. Even if you do not have allergies, there are environmental elements that can impact the quality of your skin. Luckily, many of them are easily managed with a few key skin care products and routines.
Skin Care for Spring Allergies
For many folks, springtime allergies are a major issue. Whether they are allergic to pollen or freshly cut grass, they often find themselves with red, puffy eyes once the weather warms up. Not only is this uncomfortable, but it often leads people to rub their eyes in a way that leads to premature sagging of the skin. In addition to eye cream, using cold compresses on the eyes is a quick and easy way to both relieve discomfort and reduce swelling in the sensitive area around the eyes.
Irritation from Swimming
When the weather warms up, swimming quickly becomes a daily activity for many people. Very few, however, think to include protection against chlorine and other chemicals in their skin care for spring routine. If you have sensitive skin, there is a good chance that the chemicals used in a public pool will cause your skin to itch and even turn red. You can help combat this by rinsing your skin off immediately upon exiting the pool, even if you are not able to take a full shower. Follow up by washing thoroughly as soon as possible and never going to bed with pool water still on your skin.
Protection from the Sun
Of course, the most important step in skin care for spring is protecting your skin against the sun. You should be wearing a minimum of SPF 15 every day, even if you do not plan to sit out in the sun. SPF 50 is best for days that you will be actively tanning. If you have particularly fair skin, you may want to give yourself extra protection by wearing hats and loose-fitting clothing whenever possible.
When spring rolls around, you will face a new set of challenges with your skin care. However, many of the products that you already use can help combat seasonal skin care problems, including the products available through Genovo Skincare.
